The New Version” directed by Boris Blank and based on Brecht’s original

nevertheless, gained a lot of controversial opinions.
'…Shortly before the graduation from Schukinsk Drama School (and still
considering other alternatives as to my future profession), I was
nevertheless taking part in any project my class had, negotiating deals
with various theaters. Back then, I never had a feeling I was doing it
for myself in the first place; on the other hand, maybe I was just
fooling myself. All in all, I had to be a part of this, because so many
people I knew were involved. They cared of their future career, and, had
I stayed aside, I would’ve set them up. In any case, I was showing up in
many theaters, with my inner feelings telling me it was just because I
cared of my mates. I believe that was the reason I was more relaxed and
less nervous. The Theater n.a. Gogol was the first try, many other
followed, with many offers coming. However, I chose the Gogol Theater
somehow.
